Remit

The Senate delegates authority to the Senate Business Committee to:

  • Review papers for consideration at Senate
  • Agree the agenda and matters for discussion and decision at each meeting of Senate
  • Consider, on behalf of Senate, business requiring immediate action, and to report to Senate on action taken

The function of Senate Business Committee is:

  • To consider any matter which the Principal may raise
  • To establish such working parties, advisory groups and sub-committees as the Committee may from time to time determine
  • To invite any persons whose knowledge and experience would be useful to attend meetings of the Committee
  • To support effective communications from and to Senate
  • To review papers submitted for Senate

Composition

  • Vice-Principal (Convener)
  • One other Senior Officer/Deputy Associate Principal
  • A member of Senate representing each of the four Faculties: Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Strathclyde Business School
  • Representation from Education Enhancement
  • Subgroup representation
  • Management support from Education Enhancement
  • StrathUnion President
