Disability & Wellbeing Service
If you're a student looking for wellbeing support, please visit student Disability & Wellbeing.
The Service has a range of advisers with specialist expertise in disability, health, mental health and counselling. We offer a broad range of support to students with any disability, mental health and wellbeing-related needs.
Students with concerns about their mental health or wellbeing can access initial support and advice from our Early Intervention Counselling Team. Referrals can be made by emailing the Disability & Wellbeing Service disability-wellbeing@strath.ac.uk or calling us on 0141 548 3402.
You can also come to our reception to refer to the service or get further information. We are based on Level 4 of the Mary Dunn Wing, Teaching & Learning Building.
Student Advice and Support
Our Student Advice and Support service offers a wide range of support and advice to help you flourish at Strathclyde.
The first point of contact for your queries is the Student Experience Helpdesk. Based at Level 4 of the Learning and Teaching Building, this team are here to help you navigate student life and to answer any questions you may have along the way.
Students who may welcome advice and support about money matters, such as funding their studies and living costs, can contact the Funding and Financial Support team. This team are also on hand to provide guidance on emergency funding which may be available.
Report & Support is a facility where anyone can disclose behaviours or issues they believe puts the safety of the Strathclyde community at risk. As part of Strathclyde Safe360°, we are committed to a safe campus for all and believe everyone who is a part of the University community: staff, students, and visitors, have a responsibility in ensuring this is the case.
You can use this form to report problematic behaviours such as harassment, Gender-Based Violence, stalking, discrimination, or to raise concerns about safety, and issues that undermine our inclusive University.
Learner Development Services work with students and staff to support useful learning and research excellence. Support is offered through one-to-one consultations, classroom-based activities, drop-in tutorials, and online resources.
We offer advice on a range of academic practices, including:
- Mathematics and statistics
- Writing for assessments and research
- Organisation and time management
- Reading and notetaking
- Critical analysis and evaluation
- Exam preparation and performance
International Student Support Team
The University of Strathclyde's International Student Support Team (ISST) is here to help you make the most of your time here. We offer specialised guidance and information on the following:
- study-related immigration - We help you navigate visa applications and requirements.
- personal issues - Facing challenges? We can connect you with relevant university and external support services.
Student Union Advice Hub
The Strath Union Advice Hub team is always available for anything you need. You can chat with them confidentially about any issues, and they'll listen to you with care and respect. The Strath Union Advice Hub can be used by all Strathclyde students at any level of study to chat about options and get our advice on everything from course transfers and appeals to council tax and tenancy checks to student funding and emergency financial support. The Advice Hub can also help with finding support for specialist areas of advice such as visas, immigration and debt.
You'll find them on Level 1 of the Union, based in the Dame Jocelyn Bell-Burnell Wing of the Learning and Teaching Building. They are fully accessible.
