NHS Golden Jubilee Chief Executive, Gordon James, has been appointed Visiting Professor at the University of Strathclyde.

The academic appointment to the Department of Work, Employment and Organisation recognises Mr James' exceptional leadership and his ongoing commitment to innovation, research, and organisational excellence across NHS Scotland.

Strategic relationship

Mr James said: “It is a privilege to be invited to join the University of Strathclyde in this capacity. I’m passionate about developing effective, compassionate workplaces and sharing learning across sectors.

“This role is a fantastic opportunity to connect health service leadership with academic thinking, and to contribute to a range of future public service strategies.”

Welcoming the appointment, Professor Roma Maguire, Deputy Associate Principal and Director of Health and Care Futures at the University of Strathclyde, said: “Gordon brings invaluable real-world insight into leading large, public service organisations. His involvement will greatly enhance our work on innovation and transformation to optimise service delivery and improve patient outcomes.”

In his role as Visiting Professor, Mr James will actively contribute to teaching, research and knowledge exchange, helping to bridge the gap between healthcare delivery and academic insight.
