EmployabilityJustyna Kardasz

Please tell us a bit about yourself.

I am a very active person, full of energy to try new things and  support the people around me in their passions. I am a creative soul that loves experimenting and teaching in non-traditional senses.  I have a few side-hustles that bring me out of my shell and into the spotlight.

Why did you choose to study at Strathclyde?

It was in Glasgow, I love Glasgow!

How has coming to Strathclyde improved your career prospects?

It has changed my mindset and how I approach life. I am not the same person I was at the start of this journey six years ago. And it is all thanks to Strathclyde University for giving me the opportunity to explore who I am and what I want.

Tell us about any activities you have been involved with while at Strathclyde that you feel have enhanced your employability

I have taken on many voluntary opportunities that have enhanced my experience. Especially with Strath Union throughout my studies and thereafter. Being a leader in societies and sports clubs has allowed me to shape my fellow students' experiences, including during COVID-19.

What is the most important thing you learned from the experience?

That putting yourself out of your comfort zone will force you to grow.

Please tell us about something that you are proud of/you have achieved during your time at Strathclyde.

Through my volunteering I found my ambition to be an advocate for change in my community and beyond. I hope that through my work as Vice President of Community, I inspire people to take on leadership roles and make changes for the better of their communities.

What are your plans for the future?

I hope to continue working with communities and feel inspired by them to create more change. I hope to break into a creative career path while still giving back to the community that raised me for the past 6 years.
