Terms and conditions and the student contract

We believe that it is important that applicants and students understand the terms and regulations that apply when studying at the University of Strathclyde. Our ‘contract’ with you allows you to know what you should expect from us and what we expect from you.

There are four key elements to consider:

Your offer

If your application is successful, you will receive a formal offer of a place at Strathclyde.

Your programme

Your offer should be considered in parallel with details of your programme of study. Take the time to look at detailed information about your programme:

Terms & conditions for applicants & students

The Terms and Conditions contains important information about your contract with the University. This links to a range of policies relating to your time at Strathclyde – everything from academic engagement to fees.

University Statutes, Ordinances, Charter & Regulations

The constitution and governance of the University are regulated by the Charter, Statutes and Ordinances. The Regulations support this with information about committees, academic regulations and student discipline.

What do we mean by student contract?

We take the relationship between students and applicants and the University seriously. Information about our contract with you should help us both understand what we need to do. The University has an obligation to deliver what we say we will deliver, and you have an obligation to respect the values of the University, follow regulations, pay your fees and engage with your curriculum. We expect everyone in our Strathclyde community to understand, respect and behave in accordance with the Strathclyde Community Commitment.

What happens if things change?

There are occasions where we need to change things. The University aims to be transparent and fair and takes the needs of applicants and students into account at all times. Where a programme needs to change while you are a student with us, we will follow academic policy guidelines.

Complaints

Our goal is to deliver high-quality services to all students, applicants and visitors. We welcome any potential opportunity to improve the provision of services across the University.

If you feel something has gone wrong or are dissatisfied with any of our services, please tell us. Full information on how to do this is available within the Complaints Procedure.
