Hospital Visits
If you or someone you know in the University community is in hospital, please let us know. We're glad to visit.
Being in hospital can be a vulnerable and challenging time but we're here for you. The role of the Chaplains is to offer care to any member of the University community, staff or students. We rely on you to help us to care.
As with any concern, appropriate confidentiality is maintained.
Bereavement Support
The passing of a loved one, a friend, or a colleague, can occur at any time. It may be something for which people are prepared, or it may be very sudden.
As a student at the University, or a member of the staff community, bereavement can create pressures, and with it, the need for support over a longer term.
As a Chaplaincy Team, we know that everyone reacts differently to death. Some people want space to be on their own. Others need to be with friends. Many will want to seek outside support.
The University has a range of services which may help in coping with bereavement. We currently have Chaplains from Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, Humanist, Jewish, Muslim and Sikh traditions, along with Interfaith, LGBTQ+ and Earth-based faith Chaplains. If you, or someone you know, have recently lost a relative, friend or colleague and would like to speak to a member of the Chaplaincy Team, please get in touch.
