Personal statement

Dr. Enrico Tubaldi joined the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Center for Intelligent Infrastructure at University of Strathclyde in October 2017 as Lecturer in Structural Engineering. Before joining University of Strathclyde, he was Marie Curie Reaserch Fellow at Imperial College London (UK). His research interests include risk assessment of structures and infrastructure under natural hazards such as earthquakes and floods, and computational structural mechanics. This research aims at reaching a better understanding of the physical behavior of building and bridge structures, by also taking into account the stochastic nature of the loading environment and of the structural properties. This effort can lead to safer, more economic and more rational design procedures and contribute to make the built environment more resilient against the impact of natural disasters.
