Personal statement

My research focuses on security and privacy, with expertise in areas such as AI security, IoT and smart home security, risk management, identity management, digital forensics, and usable security. I collaborate with experts from various disciplines to tackle complex challenges in these fields. Before moving into academia, I developed my skills as an IT security specialist, which has provided me with practical experience that enhances both my teaching and research. I currently teach courses CS810 and CS807 in the MSc Graduate Apprenticeship Cybersecurity program. Additionally, I contribute to the MSc Cybersecurity curriculum by developing the CS885 module. Alongside my teaching responsibilities, I supervise research projects at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, focusing on various topics within the field of Information Security. I am enthusiastic about working with prospective PhD students who share my passion for advancing research in security and privacy. If you are interested in exploring these dynamic areas or collaborating, I would be delighted to hear from you.

Security and Privacy Analysis of AI Assistants Ecosystem
Edu, Jide (Principal Investigator) Sandison, Frazer (Researcher)
Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistants have transformed the way we interact with computers by enabling us to perform tasks and access information more efficiently. However, recent incidents involving AI assistants have raised concerns about the security and privacy of user data within the ecosystem. This research aims to comprehensively analyse the security and privacy aspects of the AI assistant ecosystem, identify potential vulnerabilities and risks, and propose robust solutions to improve user protection.
