Fabien Massabuau receives Materials Young Investigator Award
Dr Fabien Massabuau, senior lecturer in Physics and leader of the gallium oxide optoelectronic devices group (GOOD group), has been awarded the Materials Young Investigator Award.
The Materials Young Investigator Award was established in 2017 to acknowledge the achievements of young investigators in the field of materials science and engineering. The awardees were chosen by a selection committee chaired by the Materials editor-in-chief following a review process. As awardee, Dr. Massabuau will receive an honorarium of CHF 2000, an electronic certificate, as well as an opportunity to publish a paper free of charge in Materials.
Dr Massabuau’s research explores the design and study of emerging ultrawide bandgap semiconductors – focusing on gallium oxide – for next generation UV sensing technologies, which can be used to monitor air/water quality, detect fires, or provide early medical diagnostics.
