Our People

My ambition is to contribute to advancements in healthcare by working in biomedical research or clinical diagnostics, where I can apply my knowledge to improve patient outcomes. My time at Strathclyde has been invaluable in preparing me for these goals.

Allan Kisubi, MSc Industrial Biotechnology
I loved and still love Glasgow to bits. Cliché as it sounds, people are the best thing about that city. There’s nothing like the hospitality, openness and kindness of a Glaswegian in the UK. The architecture is quite awesome as well.

Miriam Laura Fernandes, MSc Quantitative Finance
When joining Strathclyde, I had only one goal - to get a job in portfolio management. But, as I went through the MSc Quantitative Finance, my horizons broadened. I am now considering being a quant analyst!

Olha Makydonska, MPhys Physics
I loved being able to dive deeper into specific areas of physics that fascinate me, like Nanoscience and Solid state physics. The freedom to explore my interests through both theoretical and hands-on learning made the experience incredibly rewarding.
Jonathan Sneddon, BSc Hons Mathematics with Teaching
Throughout my time at Strathclyde, I developed great people skills, where I was able to make great relationships with other students and through the great opportunities that the University provided, I was able to use these skills in practice for my future.

Megan Miles, MChem Chemistry with Drug Discovery
I liked how approachable everyone in my department was, whether it was about discussing personal matters or coursework, most members of staff were welcoming and made an active effort to make communication with them as easy as possible.

Dimeji Oladepo, MSc Artificial Intelligence & Applications
My future ambitions are centred around making meaningful contributions to artificial intelligence and advancing technology for societal benefit. My time at Strathclyde has been instrumental in shaping these aspirations.

Leah Brown, BSc Hons Biomedical Science
My primary ambition for the future is to contribute significantly to the field of cancer research. I am driven to be part of the scientific community working towards developing novel therapies and improving existing treatments for cancer patients.

Niamh Rosina Murray, BSc Mathematics
I know the people I met at Strathclyde will always be very important to me, as well as the University, and I will always be proud to say I am a graduate from the University of Strathclyde

Rana Muhammad Sobaan, MSc Advanced Computer Science with Data Science
I am particularly impressed by the comprehensive nature of my course, providing in-depth theoretical knowledge, emphasizing practical applications, and ensuring that I am well-equipped with both academic understanding and real-world skills upon graduation.

Anne Grima, MSc Forensic Science
My main ambition is to be a forensic biologist. I enjoy working in the lab a lot, and I feel like the course at Strathclyde really helped build the proper mindset to be able to do so.

Emad Al Balushi, BSc Physics with Teaching (International)
This comprehensive and supportive environment made Strathclyde the ideal choice for pursuing my studies and achieving my long-term goals.

Aaman Sayyed, MSc Advanced Pharmacology
My favourite thing about Glasgow is the city’s unique blend of history, culture, and warmth. There’s always something happening, from music festivals to art exhibitions, and the people here are incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially to international students.

Kawther Bosakhar, MPharm Pharmacy
I am grateful for the enriching experiences and opportunities that studying at Strathclyde has provided me. The University's vibrant and supportive environment, highlighted by its active student union, has been instrumental in my personal and professional development.

Tana Bonner, MPhys Physics with Advanced Research
After I get my master’s degree, I am planning to get a PhD in quantum mechanics or theoretical physics; eventually going into research.

The best part of my job is the problem solving. In an ideal world nothing would go wrong with the car, but when we have potential issues, working with the team to work out how to fix it is really satisfying.
