Faculty of Science Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee (FEDIC)Committee Membership

The Faculty Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee promotes EDI by developing and implementing strategies and initiatives to foster an inclusive and equitable environment for all; placing wellbeing at the heart of the Faculty; organises and supports training, educational and awareness-raising activities to enhance the understanding and engagement of EDI; creating a culture of respect, empathy and inclusivity; and embeds principles of equity, inclusion, diversity, and justice into curriculum development, research, and operational practice.

FEDIC also creates a collaborative and partnership approach to EDI by supporting wellbeing champions that share good practice and initiatives across departments, faculties, and local communities; identifies and addresses barriers to EDI policy and practice implementation within the Faculty; assesses key decision-making processes with Equality Impact Assessments; and evaluates the progress and effectiveness of EDI initiatives using data-driven approaches and feedback from stakeholders to provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
