Strathclyde Environmental Architecture Research Centre

Our research spans multiple complex climate change, health and social issues impacting and being impacted by the built environment at diverse scales – from the nano to the macro.

Digital Construction, Procurement & Law

Our research addresses the challenges of improving productivity, lowering cost, and enhancing quality with safe and UN SDG-driven sustainable outcomes in the construction sector by applying state-of-the-art digital technologies.

Urban Design & Analytics

We study cities, their form, functions and impact, with the goal of making them more resilient. We aim to understand the major interrelated dynamics posed by recent urbanization processes, in both informal settlements and established cities.

Conservation & Heritage

We deal with the challenges of properly conserving our built heritage while allowing changes to adapt it to contemporary uses. We deal with the design of new buildings which contribute to the conservation of our environment, learning from traditional strategies and technological innovations.
