OverviewESRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA)

The overarching aim of the University of Strathclyde’s Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) is to cultivate and sustain an institutional environment and culture to support effective, ambitious and equitable KE and impact, through innovations in infrastructure and collaborative opportunities. We aim to:

  • Transform and translate our world-leading research, and associated outputs, into meaningful impact with the aim of co-creating fairer lives, communities and societies;
  • Strengthen and diversify our engagement with different stakeholder groups, fostering strategic multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral partnerships, to address key challenges and accelerate the translation of our research into sustainable and meaningful impact;
  • Develop capacity and skills to engage with a range of external stakeholders to enhance impactful research that informs policy and practice and develop the next generation of research and impact leaders, enhancing institutional capacity and capability.

The ESRC has awarded a total of £1.25 million to the University to support the development of impact from our Economic and Social Sciences (ESS) research portfolio. The Strathclyde ESRC IAA opened on 1st April 2023 and will run until 31st March 2028.
