Events for all students including PhDs
All of our events are open to PhD students. These include:
- workshops and information sessions covering essential information on a range of career topics
- employer presentations
- careers fairs
- and skills sessions delivered by employers
All Careers Service and employer events are advertised on our Events calendar, you can check this regularly through the website or on the University App.
Careers fairs, employer presentations, pop-ups and events are a useful introduction to organisations and industries.
Departments and faculties may also organise events such as conferences or guest speakers, these may be of particular interest to PhD students.
The Careers Service organises the Scottish Graduate Fair which takes place in Glasgow each Autumn. It is the largest graduate recruitment event in Scotland.

1-to-1 appointments
You can book in-person and online appointments with your Faculty Careers Consultant for:
- 30 minute CV/Application/Cover Letter Check
- 60 minute Guidance Appointments
- 45 minute Practice Interviews
Find out more about these different appointment types and how to book them through our Appointments page. PhD CV/Application appointments are booked in the same way as guidance appointments and practice interviews. This is not the same system as undergraduate or Masters students use to book these appointments as PhD CVs typically require more time.
