Asylum Seekers & Refugees

At Strathclyde, we encourage applications to study from asylum seekers and refugees. We have a dedicated named contact at the Univeristy, Megan Banks megan.banks@strath.ac.uk, for applicants and students from asylum seeker and refugee backgrounds, who you can contact for advice on support prior to, or during your studies.

Asylum Seeker scholarship

The University has worked closely with the University of Strathclyde Students’ Association, Scottish Refugee Council, and The Carnegie Trust to create the Asylum Seeker scholarship. It aims to help asylum seekers currently in the UK, and individuals currently in the UK on humanitarian grounds, to overcome obstacles in pursuing higher education.

The scholarship is available to students who want to study an undergraduate degree or a taught postgraduate degree at the University. You can read more about the scholarship and apply here: Asylum Seeker Scholarship | University of Strathclyde
