New Female Social Work and Social Policy Academics Network
Today in the School of Social Work and Social Policy, the women academics stepped away from their computers and books and headed off campus for a spot of lunch and a supportive discussion about how we can help, support and mentor each other as women academics. With the day-to-day tasks of teaching, researching and writing presenting new challenges, an easy habit to fall into is one of an individualised working practice. As women educators, we are interested in how we can come together as a collective to recognise and appreciate the work we do, to slow down, and create a more sustainable working environment for women to thrive. We hope this network will generate new practices of collective reflection and support.
