Funded PhD position at the School to consider evictions in Scotland

A fully funded PhD opportunity is now available at the School, with applications accepted until 2 May 2025.

In association with SafeDeposits Scotland Charitable Trust, Malcolm Combe will supervise the project entitled “Getting the balance right in private sector evictions in Scotland”.

Speaking about the project, Mr Combe said:

Private sector evictions represent more than half of the current case load of the relevant tribunal, and with recent changes in the law and further changes expected in the new Housing (Scotland) Bill this is an important moment to consider the rights and obligations of both tenants and landlords, and what this all means for the private rented sector as a whole. I am delighted that SafeDeposits Scotland Charitable Trust has offered its support to this important project.
