It comes as something of a shock to realise I’ve been involved with mediation for the past 30 years. Originally qualified as a family mediator, I’ve been lucky enough to have mediated across a wide variety of contexts, largely without any additional training, but simply a willingness to give it a go.

As a trainer, I currently train practitioners in both family and workplace mediation. I love training, as I get to help people acquire a set of skills, and more importantly a quality of consciousness, that the world desperately needs.

On rare occasions, when I manage to sit down long enough, I also write short articles about mediation. My last piece was on Mediation and Dentistry, which mostly got composed in a small wooden house in Lithuania, which had the advantage of no internet or mobile signal. Back in 2006, I won the John Haynes award for my article on Mediating Hearts & Minds.

I live in the wilds of Herefordshire, but remarkably, only a few hundred metres from four very nice tennis courts. I’ve recently adopted a two-handed backhand which is still very much a work in progress.
