Dr Lenka Holá

Biography: Lenka Holá is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law of Palacký University Olomouc, where she focuses on the theory, research, and teaching of mediation. Additionally, she has over twenty years of experience as a practising mediator in civil, family, criminal, and consumer disputes. She served as a member of the advisory body of the Minister of Justice of the Czech Republic for alternative dispute resolution. She was actively involved in the legislative process of the Mediation Act and the prepararation of the mediator exams. Currently, she serves as the Chair of the Examination Committee for mediator exams under the Mediation Act and is a member of the Mediation Working Group of the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic. She has been involved in research on family mediation in the Czech Republic, and from 2018 to 2020, she was the principal investigator of the national research project “Conditions for the Practice of Mediation in the Czech Republic according to the Mediation Act.” Since January 2024, she is also the principal investigator of another national research, “Mediation in Criminal Proceedings in the Context of Restorative Justice.” At the Faculty of Law in Olomouc, she introduced mediation teaching in 2013, she founded the Mediation Clinic in 2021 and established the Centre for Conflict Resolution and Mediation in 2023.
