Research Interns Mark Nitkowski Professor Yvette Taylor

Mark Nitkowski and Professor Yvette Taylor

Mark Nitkowski, a third year Education and Journalism and Creative Writing student, has been awarded a Research Internship to work with Professor Yvette Taylor and Dr Cristina Costa on the project  'Undergraduate fractures and futures', exploring intersectional inequalities in contemporary undergraduate student experiences.

Mark was selected via a University-wide competition and said

'This is an unbelievable opportunity for me, and one which I would never have thought was possible when I returned to education 5 years ago. It's all quite overwhelming, and highlights the fact that hard work does indeed pay off. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity, and look forward to working with Professor Taylor and Dr Costa on the project.’

The Research Interns@Strathclyde programme is in its eighth year and is part of the University’s commitment to provide opportunities for undergraduate students to gain experience of relevant and purposeful research before their final year of study, enhancing their understanding of their discipline.  Mark joins a community of over fifty undergraduate research scholars from across the University
