Impact through Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy
The Routledge journal Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy (PESP), edited by Professor David Kirk, has achieved a notable rise in the Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) rankings, moving up in the Education and Educational Research category from 101/224 in 2014 to 49/230 in 2015. This rise was due to an increase in Impact Factor from 0.811 in 2014 to 1.390 in 2015. Professor Kirk is Founding Editor of the journal which began life in 2004, but only entered the SSCI in 2012 and gained its first Impact Factor in 2013.
Impact Factor records the number of times articles published in a journal are cited. The SSCI includes journals from all fields of educational research and from around the world. This rise in rankings makes PESP the leading scholarly journal that publishes solely educational research in the physical education field.
