Megan Scherrer is a PhD student who joined the Centre for Energy Policy in March 2024. Her research aims to identify and evaluate potential policy measures that can simultaneously achieve the goals of domestic heating decarbonisation and fuel poverty mitigation within the Scottish context. Megan holds an MSc in Energy, Society, and Sustainability from the University of Edinburgh and has a background in sociology, equipping her to examine the lived experiences of those affected by fuel poverty and to explore policy interventions relevant to her research.
Post-PhD, she aspires to continue research that supports critical policy initiatives related to energy. Pursuing her PhD at the Centre for Energy Policy is a valuable opportunity to contribute to meaningful policy development, and Megan is passionate about the work she is conducting and its potential impact. She is also eager to expand her network and build connections in fields related to her research and broader energy policy contexts.
