We collaborate with key UK and global industry, policy-making and government partners through a broad range of mechanisms. Our research, consultancy and industrial services help with technology development. Our CPD and internships support staff training and graduate recruitment.

Industrial Services
Our research groups have cutting edge facilities.
If you're an academic or external company please contact us if you are interested in using or hiring our facilities.

Student Projects
Much of our student learning is focussed upon individual and project work that is professionally and industrially relevant. Input and support from our industrial partners is key to much of the project work and we do seek to solicit ideas and support from our industrial partners in developing out project portfolio.
These projects can be an ideal mechanism for you as a business to gain an appreciation of what the department can do for you, and perhaps whet your appetite for a more focussed involvement.
While we run projects across all years of our UG and MSc programmes, the key project work is undertaken as individual projects in 4th year and group projects in 5th year of MEng programmes running across the academic year. Additionally, the department runs summer individual projects for MSc students which are linked with our MSc Internship scheme.
If you and your organisation are interested in pursing possible project collaboration, please complete the short form. We will then follow up with you to integrate the idea into our project portfolio.
Undergraduate project specifications can be received at anytime but please note that projects are offered to students from the middle of August and projects commence around the 2nd week of September. (MSc summer projects are offered to MSc student in March and commence in the middle of May).
