Sylvia Battcock

Sylvia is the Outreach Coordinator for the Chemical and Process Engineering department. She supports research impact through organizing and delivering a range of public engagement activities, developing strategies and objectives for engaging with diverse audiences.

Sylvia is passionate about public engagement, especially within scientific research. She believes that effective public engagement is crucial to advancements in science and technology and integral to the quality of our future.


In her role, Sylvia develops innovative public engagement activities and events based on research outputs, in collaboration with department researchers. She also provides public engagement training, support, and opportunities to staff and students from the department and other university departments.
