Because of my background studying electronic engineering together with my rising interest in the energy and electrical sector, I found the MSc Smart Grids course the perfect combination to feed both of my curiosities. The decisive fact to select this programme was the possibility to have international experience in Glasgow. After several years studying in Madrid, having the opportunity to know a new University and environment has been the best part for me.
I think that the key to this programme’s success is the possibility to learn from the distinguished professors involved in it at both ICAI and Strathclyde, while experiencing different ways of teaching and learning that may be closer to what is waiting for us in our future.
Academically, what I enjoyed the most was learning to use data to provide efficiency, reliability, and flexibility to the grid. Professionally, the most important fact has been realizing about the great adaptability that these learnings will have whatever my next steps will be.
Personally, what this programme has given me is the opportunity to widely open my mind not only to a fast changing world but also to different realities that exist and live together outside my comfort zone, and gain an ability and willingness to adapt to them in order to contribute to the global energy transition.
